With the ever growing pandemic of Covid-19 aka Corona virus many of us will find us limited in chances to get out and about. However there are a lot of things you can do at home to practice or gain new skills. Here are just a few ideas, but do browse this forum for video tutorials on all sorts of things you can do photography wise.
1. Photograph Food - with our food choices no doubt being more limited than usual why not take the opportunity to snap some of your creations and the ingreidents used. Check out our section on food photography here for some video tutorials
2.Oil on Water - Create your very own abstract images by photographing oil and water. Use some colorful cloth or piece of paper on a table. Put several drops of cooking oil into a clear, glass dish of water, then set the dish on top of the cloth or paper. Add a light source - a flash or even an incandescent lamp that can be angled - and capture the striking interaction of these elements. The results, like the image above, can be breathtaking! - Check out video tutorials here
3. Pet photography - if you have pets of any sort they are the perfect muse for our cameras, of course they will now always oblige by being cute, but their characters can cause great amusement in the process. - Check out pet photography videos here
4. Still Life, well anything in your home can be used to create the image, just experiment with items and lights - Check out still life tutorials here
5. Portraits photography, prolly good idea to ask those you live with whilst still getting on as after extending self isolation they may be more likely to say no - Check our portrait tutorials here
6. Self Portraits nowadays also known as selfies - Click here for selfie tutorials
7. Macro photography, close up and initmate shots of all sorts of objects, - Check out Macro at Home tutorials here
Just a few ideas to be getting on with, I will add more asap, I am in UK and currently free to roam but sure that will change very soon.
